All-natural cotton and silk bras for GALs who hate wearing ’em
Thumbs up to this bra for comfort: the Julie May “Georgie” Silk Back Support Full Coverage Wireless Organic Cotton Bra.
By Lauria Locsmondy
You know when you buy that one garment that just works? So you wear it literally every time it’s washed? That’s my Julie May “Georgia” Silk Back Support Full Coverage Wireless Organic Cotton Bra.
Full disclosure: I hate wearing a bra, and usually only do so for fashion, when I work out, or to bypass coworkers’ stares. Plus, I have fibromyalgia, which makes wearing straps and underwire sometimes painful — not to mention the discomfort from my recent perimenopausal boob sweats.
The “Georgia” is made from 78% organic prima cotton and 22% silk, with the cup being 100% pure silk. This super-soft, natural fabric combo — the blend for all of Julia May’s products — cools the skin and wicks away moisture, making hot flashes less miserable.
Meet a Midster No. 1
Meet Lara Levitan, the Chicago Xennial writing a novel about celebrity obsession
I’m Lara Levitan — not really a Millennial, not quite a Gen Xer … a Xennial?) I’m 44 and live in the Avondale neighborhood in Chicago.
By day, I'm revising my second novel, redefining my professional identity, rearranging my resume, and striving to remain Zen about all of it. By night, I'm putting away my phone after family dinner and putting myself to bed by 9pm.
By weekend, I sleep in until 6am (lol), hang with my husband and daughter, and refrain from cooking as much as possible (although that never really happens).
I’m in the midst of:
loving the people around me for who they are rather than who I'd prefer them to be.
being obsessed with my dog Lucky, the best shih-tzu poodle ever to walk the earth.
feeling something sacred, every day.
For me, the best thing about being 44 is caring less about "fitting in" and the worst thing is playing Ultimate PMS (as in, way more symptomatic than I've ever been).
