BeWell | The Midst beauty, style & wellness newsletter
Dear Readers,
Stories have a way of shaping us, and The Midst has been one of the most extraordinary I’ve had the privilege to be part of. From the many voices that bring it to life to the incredible community that has formed around it, this experience has been nothing short of magical.
As I continue to follow my creative and personal growth, my time at The Midst is coming to an end. While it’s always bittersweet to wrap up an experience as special as this, I do so with immense gratitude for the creativity, magic, and connection this journey has brought. Being part of this world — alongside all of you — has been an unforgettable adventure, and I’m so grateful for every moment.
It has been a joy to work alongside Carrie, Rachel, Eve, and Tiffany — an inspiring team that made every day both meaningful and fun. And above all, it has been an absolute privilege to publish our writers’ stories, bringing their words into the world and sharing them with this incredible community.
A huge thank you to Amy for her vision and for bringing The Midst to life in such a bold and beautiful way. It’s been an honor to be part of this journey, and I’ll always cherish the experience, the stories we’ve championed, and the brilliant, creative people I’ve met along the way.
The Midst has always been about bold storytelling and reinvention, and that spirit is something I’m carrying forward into my next chapter. I’m diving headfirst into the world of wellness, yoga, and midlife reinvention — proving it’s never too late to start something new. If that resonates with you, or if you just want to stay connected, come find me on Instagram at @LauriaLux — I’d love to keep the adventure going with you!
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. The best stories never really end — they just evolve.
Xx,
Lauria
Marching into spring
March is throwing some HOT curveballs, so get ready to slow down and rethink a few things. Venus goes retrograde in Aries on March 1, putting an emphasis on love, money, and confidence. Mercury follows on March 15, also in Aries, turning communication into a minefield of misunderstandings and delays. Aries loves to charge ahead, but this combo of retrogrades is like hitting every red light when you're in a rush. Instead of forcing things, take a breath. This is a chance to rethink what (and who) actually deserves your energy.
Then there’s the Blood Moon on March 13, a total lunar eclipse in Virgo, flipping the script on anything shaky in your life. Virgo likes order, but eclipses don’t care about your plans, they clear out what’s not working, whether you’re ready or not. Since this is all happening between two fiery retrogrades, emotions will be running PIPING hot. Let things play out before making any big moves. March is less about racing ahead and more about letting the dust settle so you can see what’s really worth your time.
Now let’s dive into your horoscopes here!
4 easy ways to transition your skin care from winter to spring
Spring is time for renewal — and that includes our skin. In the winter, we prioritize hydration, but as March rolls around, we start looking for lightweight options as many of us venture back into a sunny civilization.
At a recent brunch, my 40-something girlfriends chatted up their skin care routines, asking me about the best simple switches as we roll into warmer weather. Like most of us, these GALs don’t have time to deep dive into research and reviews nor trial and error: They want bona fide recommendations without paying the price, literally.
So, as requested, here’s a promising list of four spring skin care must-haves, which I personally recommend — and that won’t demand you to sacrifice your afternoon lattes.
