You’ll walk away with more knowledge of peri/meno signs, symptoms, and treatments — and various options for addressing and understanding this time in your life.

Meet the panelists
Dr. Nathalie Gamache is a former biology teacher, sea turtle researcher, coroner, and currently a gynecologist who completed a fellowship in menopause in 2005.
A clinician and surgeon at The Ottawa Hospital until 2012, she also owned and directed clinics in Gatineau and Ottawa, while running a women’s health satellite program in Renfrew, Ontario until 2017. Nathalie is currently a clinician in Vancouver. Her specialties include menopause and hormone therapy, sexuality, premenstrual syndrome, premature ovarian insufficiency, and cancer survivorship.
An educator at heart, Nathalie was an assistant professor with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa for 10 years, where she taught and collaborated to develop and launch the new medical school curriculum. She has trained several fellows in women’s health and developed educational programs for professionals and the public at large.
She is a fierce advocate for mature women’s health, frequently presenting at conferences, locally, nationally, and abroad, and is the recipient of several teaching and speaker’s awards.
In her spare time, Nathalie is developing a gin distillery. She loves to sail, ski, hike, kayak, travel, explore the culinary world and fine wines, and take in the art and cultural scenes in all their forms.
Dr. Thara Vayali is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of hey freya. Her company is on a mission to reimagine women’s wellness and radically shift how women show up in the world and care for themselves. hey freya provides women with a path from burnout to renewal through state-of-the-art biomarker testing with proprietary evidence-based supplement recommendations and culturally competent health coaching.
Thara holds a BSc in Nutritional Sciences from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in Environmental Education and Communications from Royal Roads University, and she graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as an ND. Thara practiced as a licensed naturopathic physician in Vancouver and has over 10 years of clinical experience in women’s health.
Her path into motherhood — and recognizing how many of us feel helpless in our healthcare journey — has compelled her to advocate for broad-scale awareness about women’s physiology and body literacy.
Thara speaks internationally and writes about health and wellness, stress, resilience, empathy, and mindfulness.
Esther Sedgwick is an active mom and tech marketing executive (Microsoft, then startups) who became slightly obsessed with hormone health somewhere between postpartum and perimenopause.
Esther is sharing her research to help others find efficient solutions and feel fantastic in midlife and beyond. Follow her work at Mad Alice on Substack and @iammadalice on Instagram.
Vanessa Wright is a certified life coach, writer, and speaker dedicated to empowering midlife mothers through her FLOW method. She helps women reclaim their energy, creativity, and joy by fostering sustainable self-care practices. Vanessa is also a published author and former contributor to the popular The Homeschool Mom blog. Since 2017, she has served as the special projects and content associate at Big Life Journal.
A veteran homeschooling mom, Vanessa loves journals, stickers, pens, ‘80s and ‘90s music, and reading five books at a time. She resides with her family in Raleigh, NC.
