This is a valuable resource for anyone experiencing endo or supporting someone who is. I watched my mom suffer with endo when I was a kid. She went to doctors who prescribed Valium — 35 mg, I kid you not. But even when she found a doctor who listened and diagnosed her, the 80s approach only viewed the body as separate organs and systems. And still today, our medical system doesn’t handle “complex” diseases really well. Self-advocacy and support groups really help. So does raising awareness — because “anyone can have endometriosis” and a LOT of people do.

Wow, Valium.

This article was eye-opening for me. I had endo in my late 30s but didn't recognize the symptoms on my own. If it weren't for the IVF treatments I was doing at the time, doctors likely wouldn't have identified and treated it. — Amy Cuevas Schroeder
