Thanks for sharing your story, and glad you made it through.

I've a couple of points to make as a therapist and natural healer . . .

Anorexia is the most dangerous psychiatric condition.

It's not only an emotional problem, beyond a certain point it has physical drivers, as the sufferer is too malnourished to think clearly. An experiment on mice has shown it's possible to induce anorexic behaviour in them (substantial reduction in eating) by removing one element from their diet. They lose their minds and stop eating enough. The experiment had to be stopped.

A while back I had a client book an appointment with me for weight loss. On the phone she described herself as "really obese". Back then I was working in a clinic shared by a number of therapists. When I went to the waiting room to greet my client at the appointed time, there was one woman there, of average build. I assumed she was the client of another therapist, and I was surprised when she turned out to be my client. Her problem was not her weight, but emotional.

You were such a support and inspiration to me back in the day, Amie. I'm glad you're finally getting the support you need! Congrats and Mazel on your book, and I hope to join one of your Meno Circles this year :)
