My mom was happiest in her 50s too. I remember her going around the house singing “Qué será, será / Whatever will be, will be” just as sunshine-y as Doris Day.
I’m a few months away from 49, and feel more leveled than I was at 47. I think life starts getting better after reaching a point where there are too many things to worry about to even keep track of — then it’s like, oh well.
