OOF this info was hard to receive. We need more cancer research and more support, and it always looks to my eyes like what's missing is the political will to make it happen. But I take hope from the fact that some excellent GenX physicians are banging the drum about issues that affect us, including menocare.
Hard to learn, for sure. And it feels like we know so many more people that have been diagnosed with cancer in our friend groups than we remember from our parent's peers. So it's good that awareness is growing. And like you said, as GenXers continue to voice concern about the issues, we can be hopeful that more and more care and prevention options will be available.
IDK my parents knew a lot of people who had cancer, but the differnece to my eyes is that much of it was mid- or late-stage, because there was so much less technology for early screening, and so much less understanding of how to recognize various symptoms. But in any case, more information is good information, so get all your screenings!!
